What to expect during follow-up appointments

Follow-up appointments will involve reviewing your progress, looking at what further information and support is required in making healthy diet and lifestyle changes. Meet our Dietitian

My name is Elahe Askari and I am the Founder of Hakim Family Nutrition. I have always been interested in the link between medicine and food as well as using food for healing and prevention. My passion for nutrition and health led me to pursue a career in Dietetics. I earned my BSc in Human Nutritional Sciences from the University of Manitoba in 2014.

Subsequently, I completed the Manitoba Partnership Dietetic Education Program in 2015 and gained the professional designation of Registered Dietitian (RD). I am a member of the Dietitians of Canada and registered with the Provincial Regulatory Body, The College of Dietitians of Manitoba.

My office is located at Seasons Medical Centre in Winnipeg and appointments for consultations can be made online or by calling 204-504-5300. I provide nutritional counselling using an empathetic approach and, in a client-centred manner to help you take charge of your nutrition and health goals.

I am a wife and mother of two wonderful children. When it comes to personal wellness, I am a big fan of green tea, oat bran muffins, biking along pathways, and cooking meals from scratch. I truly believe in a holistic approach to treating medical conditions through better nutrition. As an avid learner, I respect the beliefs of others, their choices, and their way of life. I enjoy speaking with people of different ethnicities to learn from their unique life experiences.
